You see branding everyday. You likely see brand photography everyday as well. Since you’ve been around, you’ve likely witnessed the success and downfall of several brands and businesses. There are reasons as to why. But there are some brands that have transcended time in so many ways, even if they’ve gone out of business. Needless to say, there is a method behind these brands’ success. Exploring why this is the case will make the difference in discovering a few secrets to make your own brand one to be remembered. Branding photography, in today’s day and age, is one of those key elements and I will do my best to highlight why I believe that is the case.
Establishes Brand Identity
The objective of branding photography establishes to your audience a sense of who you are and what you do. For example, you can distinguish fast food restaurants by their branding. Everyone knows the golden arches of McDonalds. The branding symbol transcends borders, cultures, and languages. Now, their products may vary region to region, however, the symbol remains the same. The company uses that image in all of their promotional material, which is then used to move their products. Granted, that brand association only works if your company is reliable in delivering your product.
Building Trust and Credibility
Now, the most effective way of building trust as a brand is simply doing what you say you are going to do. Customers are likely to express their positive experiences and recommend supporting your business to their friends via word of mouth. However, this won’t do a lot in regards to people who are unfamiliar with your brand. An excellent way of building upon that is to use branding photography as a means of establishing trust and credibility. Companies like Lowes and Harbor Freight do an excellent job of showcasing their employees working with their customers to find what they are looking for, in both their commercials and promotional material. When you utilize those photos, especially candid photos, you convey a sense of credibility in your brand.
Quality Over Quantity
The best way to impact your audience is to continually go above and beyond. When your brand is striving for a quality image, you have the opportunity to establish yourself as a professional-level brand. There are numerous examples of small brands gaining their following by releasing quality content, whether it be videos, music, or imagery. When you work to develop a level of consistency in your branding efforts, you set expectations for your clientele. An example of a company that is only willing to put out quality products is Tesla. In spite of all the controversy surrounding it, the company has made great strides in developing quality products and ensuring they are fit to enter the market. The same could be said for branding photography; using some level of quality control in your process will set your brand up for success. Ensuring you only use the best of your pictures in your brand promotions is crucial to establishing yourself as a memorable brand.
Branding photography has the ability to establish your brand as a memorable one in the eyes of your audience. By adhering to a level of quality, establishing your credibility, and your identity, you have the potential to build your brand to something of stature. What matters the most is how you use your platform and that you seek to provide the best experience for your audience. At the end of the day, that is the best way to set your brand apart as a memorable one. I hope that you have learned something and that you have an excellent day.
All the best,
